Series 2: 18. Jam #38: Feel the Beat

YolanDa Brown and her house band, The Band Jaminals, entertain an audience of children - the Band Jammers - with live music and special guests!\n\nYolanDa gets everyone moving with This Song Belongs to You, which is a call-and-response song. YolanDa sings 'Band-Jammalam' and the Band Jammers respond with 'Bing, Bang Boo!'\n\nJoining YolanDa in this episode is top percussionist Evelyn Glennie. Evelyn demonstrates some percussion instruments and explains how she feels music throughout her entire body. YolanDa and the Band Jammers experiment by making the sound of rain, and we find out which percussion instrument is Evelyn’s favourite.\n\nThe Fact Jam explores a percussion instrument called a marimba, which is like a big xylophone.\n\nEvelyn wows the Band Jammers with a fantastic demonstration of music on the marimba, before YolanDa and the Band Jammers invite her to join in with the Big Band Jam at the end of the programme.\n\nNext, there's a short film following a really fantastic young drummer called Geneva, who got to meet her drumming hero, George McCurdy!\n\nYolanDa and the Band Jammers are then ready for the Big Band Jam. Evelyn joins in with YolanDa and the Band Jaminals as they perform Boom Boom Clang.
