Series 2: 8. Jam #28: Buzzing Trumpet

YolanDa Brown and her house band, the Band Jaminals, entertain an audience of children - the Band Jammers - with live music and special guests!\n\nYolanDa gets everyone moving with the song Let Me See You, which is all about dancing and gets the Band Jammers hopping and swaying and ready to have fun!\n\nJoining YolanDa in this episode is top trumpeter Alison Balsom. Alison explains how to blow into a trumpet – it's all about blowing raspberries! A Band Jammer from the audience then gets to try out a special trumpet that Alison has made.\n\nA quick Fact Jam tells us more about trumpets, including the world's largest trumpet, which is about the same length as eight great white sharks swimming in a line!\n\nAlison then performs a very special solo performance of the third movement of Hummel's Trumpet Concerto before being invited by YolanDa and the Band Jammers to take part in the Big Band Jam at the end of the programme.\n\nNext there's a short film about three lucky Band Jammers meeting scientist Fran Scott and finding out all about how sound waves work.\n\nYolanDa and the Band Jammers are then ready for the Big Band Jam. YolanDa and the Band Jaminals join Alison Balsom for a performance of Green Hornet.
