Series 2: 4. Jam #24: Quick Footed Quartet

YolanDa Brown and her house band, the Band Jaminals, entertain an audience of children - the Band Jammers - with live music and special guests.\n\nYolanDa gets everyone moving with the song Jumping on Our Toes, which uses short, sharp staccato notes. YolanDa encourages the Band Jammers to jump on their toes and make fun robot movements to the music.\n\nIn this episode, YolanDa welcomes fun string quartet Bowjangles! Bowjangles show YolanDa and the Band Jammers the four instruments in a string quartet – two violins, a viola and a cello. Bowjangles explain how they love to move around when they play their instruments. They then play a game – the Band Jammers shout out descriptive musical words and Bowjangles play their instruments in that style.\n\nThe Fact Jam explores the string quartet further, and we discover that the music is like a conversation between the different instruments.\n\nBowjangles demonstrate their musical skills with a high-energy performance before being invited by YolanDa and the Band Jammers to take part in the Big Band Jam at the end of the programme.\n\nNext there's a short film which follows Band Jammer Kaitlyn as she attends a rip-roaring Swashbuckle concert and learns how to conduct an orchestra.\n\nYolanDa and the Band Jaminals perform with Bowjangles for the Big Band Jam and get everyone moving with an energetic performance of Dance to the Funky Beat.
