Swapping old items to make new memories won't be easy for grandmother Sue. Her home is full of unique items and artefacts, many of which are from her time in Africa. She also has a stunning collection of silverware and other family heirlooms. However, she wants to sell some of her cherished collections to help fund a special holiday she hopes to take with her daughters and grandchildren.\n\nSue moved to Ghana in her early twenties as a volunteer, and met the man who would become her husband, too. Together, they collected African furniture and handcrafts made by local people. As well as some Ghanaian bracelets and a pair of traditional stools, Sue brought home a pair of masks made by Asante tribespeople – one of which her daughter Emma damaged as a child.\n\nRestorer Lauren hopes to make a sensitive repair to the mask and do a sympathetic restoration on a Victorian tea caddy that's been turned into a money box. Auctioneer JB uncovers an impressive array of silverware, including a Birmingham-made tankard that could attract big bids at auction. An RAF-embossed powder compact that Sue's dad gifted to her mum during the war is also worth going under the gavel. A gold and ruby bracelet that once belonged to Sue's grandmother also catches his eye.\n\nOn auction day, the pressure is on JB to make as much as he can for Sue, as family holidays don't come cheap.
