Series 3: 16. A Veteran’s Gold Watch Sparks Frenzy at Auction
Izzie and Robin have pointed the blue van to the north east coast of Scotland to help a newlywed couple raise some much-needed cash. \n\nGrant’s parents, RAF veterans, worked all over the world, accumulating a vast, eclectic collection of global treasures that Grant has inherited. However, he has decided that now is the time to sell, as he is desperate to turn his new house into a dream home for his wife. But can Izzie and Robin help the couple raise enough cash for the renovations?\n\nAuctioneer Izzie Balmer comes across Grant's late father's gold watch, which could make a significant sum at auction. She also discovers some porcelain from Hong Kong and a few exotic-looking masks. An old sewing machine has seen better days, but restorer Robin Johnson breathes new life into it, using beetle secretion and elbow grease.\n\nOn auction day, Grant's sentimental attachment holds him back from parting with certain items. However, a heated bidding war propels them towards smashing their renovation fund target.
