As the Taliban seize control of Kabul, chaos erupts. Zahara, a prosecutor, flees with her husband Baqir to the French embassy - the last one still open - where Gilles, the security chief, oversees the evacuation of diplomats, while refugees begin to gather.\n\nFazal, Zahara’s son and a soldier in the Afghan National Army, watches as his unit deserts and decides to escape to the Panjshir, where resistance forces are forming. His sister, Amina, remains at Kabul’s hospital, caring for Nooria, a young girl who has just undergone surgery, as the Taliban approach. Meanwhile, Giovanni, an Italian diplomat, is suddenly promoted to consul after his ambassador flees, and Vera, a German intelligence officer, fights to return to Kabul to rescue General Hassan, the man who once saved her life.
