Series 3: 20. Cashing in on Cold War Relics
Izzie and JJ travel to Worcestershire to help sisters Jackie and Lis clear out their childhood home. Their late parents’ collections include some intriguing mementoes from their time in Russia during the Cold War.\n\nAuctioneer Izzie explores treasures that the sisters’ mum and dad brought back from their time working in 1980s Moscow, including a magnificent set of Byzantine-inspired religious artworks. Meanwhile, restorer JJ gets to work, restoring a damaged dining table to its former glory and saving a broken but stylish 1970s sofa. \n \nJackie and Lis’s dad was a keen collector, and delving deeper into his eclectic hoard yields a wealth of world coins and banknotes. But will they make a significant sum on sale day? \n \nThe sisters want to spend the money raised at auction on a bench in memory of their parents and on a family trip to a holiday spot their mum and dad loved to visit. Emotions run high at the auction.
