As the drought takes its toll on Longmeadow, Monty takes stock of his garden and has a radical rethink about what he should be growing in the future. With this in mind, he takes cuttings of some drought-resistant plants as a way of saving money. There is also a rambling rose in desperate need of a haircut and lots of produce to harvest in the veg garden, so as always, there is plenty to be getting on with.\n\nFrances Tophill visits the picturesque village of Clovelly in north Devon, where gardening on a clifftop is not without its challenges. And in Norfolk, Adam Frost explores a walled kitchen garden steeped in history but planted with a modern eye.\n\nOn the Isle of Wight, a couple tell the incredible story of how they’ve reimagined the Victorian garden of the poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson, while a gardener in East Anglia showcases his love of naturalistic planting.
