The roadshow visits the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, where highlights include one of the first Welsh rugby shirts, worn by 1893 Triple Crown winner Dai Samuel, an exquisite miniature silver cabinet seen by silver expert Duncan Campbell and a valuable collection of early Barbie dolls. \n\nPaintings expert Alexandra Gill is enchanted by a watercolour by Margaret Tarrant, a celebrated children’s illustrator famous for her depictions of fairies, and militaria expert Mark Smith marvels at a violin which was used as part of an elaborate tunnel escape from a German prisoner-of-war camp, immortalised in the 1950 film The Wooden Horse.\n\nWelsh expert Lisa Lloyd admires an exquisite dress which may have been worn at the 'Ball of the Century’, held just hours before the Battle of Waterloo. Miscellaneous expert Wayne Colquhoun spots some valuable Beatles autographs sealed with a kiss, and John Foster discovers a complete specimen coin set.\n\nFiona Bruce meets Gareth Edwards, one of Wales’s greatest rugby players, who has brought along a few treasured items from his illustrious career – pieces that speak not just of sporting glory but of the man behind the medals. And Fiona also gets a rare peek at some personal items belonging to one of Wales’s greatest poets, Dylan Thomas, in the company of Swansea Council’s literature officer.
