Bradford: City of Culture

Aled Jones is in Bradford to celebrate it being the UK's City of Culture for 2025. He explores how faith and the arts are coming together to showcase this remarkable multicultural city. \n\nAled meets the Very Rev Andrew Bowerman, dean of Bradford Cathedral, to discover what the award means to him and the city. He takes Aled to Bradford City’s football ground to introduce him to a specially formed choir with a difference – it’s made up of his fellow football fans, who have been brought together to represent and sing for their city! \n\nAled also meets Irene Kalli, who was selected from hundreds of entrants to be one of the BBC’s ‘New Voices Bradford’. She tells Aled about broadcasting to the nation on the subject of her beloved home city and how she feels it is God’s call for her to bring joy to all she does. \n\nAled then heads to the city’s iconic Science and Media Museum for a screening by local film-maker Tom Harmer, exploring how he tells Bradford’s story through film and faith. \n\nWith glorious, specially recorded music from Bradford Cathedral. \n\n1. O Praise Ye, the Lord – Bradford Cathedral \n2. When I Needed a Neighbour – Bradford Cathedral \n3. In Christ Alone - Pontio Arts Centre, Bangor \n4. Upon Your Heart – Bradford Cathedral \n5. This Is Amazing Grace - Saint Wilfrid Church, Bognor Regis \n6. Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken – Bradford Cathedral
