Love in the Countryside is a six-part series that sees eight rural dwellers from across the UK enlist the help of farmer's daughter Sara Cox in their quest for love. As Sara knows, if you work on the land, you are often wedded to it, so she takes the bull by the horns and goes on a mission to find our lonely rural romantics the partner of their dreams. All eight rurals posted detailed dating profiles online in the hope of attracting letters from urban singles looking to quit the hectic 9-5, in favour of a slower pace of life.\n\nAfter meeting some of those that wrote in, 59-year-old pig farmer Wendy and 53-year-old farrier Mark both invited two potential love interests to experience rural life back at their respective homes. Despite hoping to meet a younger man, Wendy was drawn to former banker Paul and businessman Simon, both 64. On arriving at Wendy's farm the competition intensifies with both men vying for her heart, and while Simon finds himself in a difficult position, things become clear for Wendy.\n\nFarrier Mark invited 45-year-old lorry driver Sarah and 58-year-old florist Renita to spend time with him in remote East Anglia but finding himself attracted to both women has complicated results. The show also catches up with 25-year-old dairy farmer Ed. He invited three women back to spend time on his farm, but still unsure if he has found the one, Ed travels to visit 29-year-old Lisa and 25-year-old Rebecca in their home towns - and while finding true love is never easy, it looks as though Ed may be getting closer.\n\nSo, when two worlds collide can cupid work his magic, and will our eight rural romantics find love in the countryside?
