Helen lives with her ex-husband and his 20-year-old girlfriend. Toiling at the local chicken factory and caring for Gwen, her much-loved mother-in-law, she lives by the clock. Her life is about to be turned upside down with the arrival back in town of Joanne, a carefree soul who she has not seen since her school days.
