As the blaze tore through farmland and a nature reserve, local farmers and wildlife wardens joined emergency crews on the front line. Two years later, those who fought the flames reflect on the devastation and the lessons learned about preventing future disasters.\n\nIn Dumfries, reporter Paul Colgan takes part in lifesaving first aid training designed specifically for farmers. Led by volunteer medics with experience in military trauma care, the course equips participants with the skills to handle on-farm emergencies, from machinery accidents to severe injuries, that could mean the difference between life and death in Britain’s most dangerous profession.
