The roadshow visits Shuttleworth House in Bedfordshire, where highlights include Little Nellie - the ultimate James Bond gadget from the film You Only Live Twice, a unique gyrocopter designed and built by aviator and inventor Ken Wallis, brought along by his daughter.\n\nMilitaria expert Mark Smith marvels at a valuable collection of World War II medals awarded to a brave pilot who took part in a Special Operations Executive mission to extract a top undercover agent from France. \n\nJohn Foster hears about a heraldic sculpture rescued from demolition, made from rare Coade Stone, an artificial material created from a type of ceramic, developed and produced in the 18th century by pioneering inventor Eleanor Coade. \n\nRupert Maas discovers a watercolour painting by Northern Irish artist Percy French, and Frances Christie is stunned by an arresting self-portrait brought in by the niece of painter Léon Jacquet-Détaille. \n\nChris Yeo lights up when he sees a collection of valuable mid-century lamps, picked up for small change, while silverware items include a quirky London-made 1804 pocket nutmeg grater and a silver mug from Tiffany’s from the mid-19th century, unearthed by a south Oxfordshire bricklayer.\n\nFiona Bruce heads to the nearby aerodrome to explore Shuttleworth’s connection to the early days of flying, and marvels at its incredible collection of vintage aircraft, many of which are still flown, including a Spitfire, which takes to the skies over our venue.
