Series 2: 12. A Moment That Changed Everything

The mountain rescue team’s newest recruits are put to the test when they’re called to help a climber with a dislocated shoulder. He’s stuck near the top of a steep crag, unable to move, with his climbing partner stranded on the rockface below him. Can husband and wife trainees Max and Tom pull them both back from the brink, and prove they’ve got what it takes to earn their rescue team red jackets? \n\nWhen it comes to searching Eryri’s vast, remote landscapes for missing people, there are some unique partnerships that can make all the difference. The specialist skills of the four-legged volunteers (and their owners) from the search and rescue dog association are invaluable when it comes to finding people quickly. There’s no time to lose for black labrador Barney and owner John, as they search for a man who’s been missing for over 12 hours. \n\nSometimes Eryri’s volunteer team members also bring valuable skills from their day jobs. When 13-year-old Izzy dislocates her knee on a school trip to the Afon Ddu gorge, she’s frightened, in pain and a long way from home. It’ll take a lot of coaxing from the mountain rescue team to persuade her to take the pain relief she needs, so they can stretcher her out of the gorge. Luckily, team member Steve comes armed with patience and a reassuring manner, from his job as a hospital A&E nurse.
