Sixteen hours of music performed by some of the world’s greatest artists, Live Aid was the idea of Bob Geldof following the success of the Band Aid single Do They Know It’s Christmas? and in response to the continuing famine in Ethiopia.\n\nThis compilation showcases some of the best performances from the day, including Queen, David Bowie, Madonna, Mick Jagger and Tina Turner, as well as more rarely seen backstage footage.
