The House That Moved sounds like a nursery rhyme - but it’s actually a true story! In 1961, a 15th-century merchant’s house was moved several hundred yards from one part of Exeter to another. Using winches and rails, the three-storey Tudor building was relocated to make way for the city’s postwar development, and in this episode, Christina Trevanion learns how that incredible feat of engineering was achieved.\n\nHoping for some movement on prices in a nearby antiques centre are two teams of bargain hunters. Shopping with expert Kate Bliss are university friends Oli and Tor. They’re up against partners Matt and Hamid, with expert Gary Pe. The first stop for Kate’s team is an arts and crafts wooden chair. She points out that whilst some brown furniture is popular, this chair doesn’t have the legs to make a profit at auction.\n\nMeanwhile, Gary freezes when he finds a glass vase in the form of dripping ice, made by a celebrated Finnish designer. Things heat up at the auction in Wiltshire when Tim Weeks sells the teams’ items – but who will get the cold shoulder at the end of the show?
