Britain’s cities have long lured the young away from where they grew up with the promise of jobs, excitement and maybe even love.?\n\nBut like all love affairs, the magic can fade, and the emotional pullback to familiar roots has many of these young people returning to their hometowns, willing to take on the stress of a restoration project to achieve the dream of a place to call their own.\n\nHaving completed a restoration project of her own, Helen Skelton has felt both the pride and pain of turning a building site into a home and wants to help one young couple restoring an unloved building with family connections.\n\nBut she's not alone. Helen has enlisted the help of award-winning architect Patrick Bradley – a specialist in breathing life back into old buildings – to give creative design ideas at every stage of the build.\n\nJess and Colin have left London to return home to Powys in rural Wales, but the couple soon face the reality of the task ahead as work on their Victorian cottages begins. It's an adjustment for Jess leaving friends and the bustling life she had created for herself in the city, while Colin juggles the pressure of a hectic work schedule and the task of trying to project-manage the restoration.\n\nIt's a challenge that will take a toll on the couple’s finances and relationship.\n\nJoin Helen and Patrick as they help this young couple turn the hometown dream into their Forever Home.\n\n
