Series 5: 30. Tram Sign

Nigel Havers welcomes sellers of collectibles and curiosities to the Bidding Room's home in Edinburgh, where they ply their wares to five dealers. \n\nFirst through the doors is farmer Phillip from Cheshire with his son Thomas. Thomas has got an industrial-sized butter churn up for grabs, and dad Phillip has come along to school the dealers in the art of butter making. Can Thomas and Phillip butter up the dealers enough to ensure they churn out some big bids? \n\nNext in and local to Edinburgh HQ is Tanya and her entourage of chihuahua dogs. They’re hoping a curious object will help the dealers to focus. Her 1950s spectacle binoculars were found in a charity shop, but she’ll need the dealers to see eye to eye with Simon’s expert valuation if she wants to make enough money for her beloved pooches' doggy treats. \n\nThird to arrive in the room is Niall, with a linen tram blind from Glasgow’s famous Botanic Gardens. Though Glasgow’s trams are long gone, the sign remains. How far will the dealers go to make the sign their own? \n\nAmelia is next, and she’s brought along an antique with medical credentials. Inherited from her great-grandfather, a pioneering gynaecologist, the patient’s bed table with original lamp stand impresses the dealers, but will they show their bedside manners and bid high enough to claim the antique table? \n\nFinally, it’s Brandon and Julie from Arizona, hoping the dealers will play ball for their croquet set and cricket stumps. Bought at auction, the items are just too nice to use for their family games of 'combat croquet', so they want to sell them on and use the money to celebrate Julie’s birthday. \n\nThe dealers today are Ian, Melissa, JB, Jo and Craig.
