In North Uist, the MacDonalds are preparing for one of the biggest events in their calendar – walking their 150 pregnant highland cattle from the mainland to the tidal island of Vallay. It’s only accessible by foot for a six-hour window, which means they must race against the tide to get them across.\n\nCamy enjoys his favourite pastime and an important earner – primping and preening other farmers’ animals for agricultural shows. And Rachel gets a chance to step into the ring too, with one of Allan’s calves. \n\nIn the Cairngorms National Park, Jenni is planning for the year ahead with her fledgling alpaca, trekking business. She’s decided a trio of pygmy goats is the perfect addition to the menagerie. Robert isn’t so sure. \n
