2023: Opening Round Highlights
Highlights of the key events from Royal Liverpool, where the world’s elite male golfers began their quest to win the oldest major and one of sport’s iconic trophies, the Claret Jug.\n\nThe course is hosting the championship for the 13th time and the first since Rory McIlroy triumphed in 2014. The Northern Irishman was denied a second Open title last year when Australian Cameron Smith produced a major championship final round for the ages to claim the biggest win of his career.\n\nEilidh Barbour introduces the action, which is described by lead commentators Andrew Cotter, Ned Michaels and Ken Brown.
