New champions are guaranteed in the men's and women's cycling road race, with Welshman Geraint Thomas and England's Lizzie Deignan not defending their title. \n\nThe opening round-robin skirmishes in the men's rugby sevens include England versus Samoa and Jamaica, while Scotland and Wales get under way against Malaysia and Sri Lanka respectively.
