Auctioneer Raj Bisram joins Charlie Ross on the slopes to tell him about his career as a ski instructor, years before he entered the world of antiques. Young Raj left the army in the hope of becoming a Winter Olympian and instead ended up joining the team of instructors at the Ellmau ski resort in Austria’s Tirol region. He shares treasured souvenirs with Charlie, including his original ski jacket, jumper and hat, as well as a pair of racing skis, which he swapped his car for!\n\nFrom the Alps to Kingston upon Thames, where two teams go bargain-hunting in a huge antiques centre. In red are mum and daughter Sharon and Lisa, who love to play in the same band at the Notting Hill Carnival. Their opponents in blue are students Cal and rookie marathon runner Albie. With Jonathan Pratt by their side, the reds go looking for party items but dismiss a vintage coffee percolator when they learn it doesn’t serve rum punch! Across the centre, the blues and Kate Bliss are going underground with an enamelled London Tube sign, until Kate spots that it’s a replica.\n\nOver in Buckinghamshire, auctioneer Hugo Lemon is on the rostrum. He gives his estimates on the teams’ items before it’s time for them to go under his gavel.
