Screenwriter William Nicholson recalls the making of the 1985 BBC drama Shadowlands, an exploration of faith, love and loss that saw Joss Ackland playing Narnia writer CS Lewis and Claire Bloom in the role of the poet Joy Gresham. \n\nWilliam shares a tale as compelling as that of the drama itself, telling how Shadowlands' success transformed his life completely. It took William to Hollywood as he became one of the UK’s most accomplished film and television writers, after years working as a documentary maker in the BBC’s Religion Unit.
