In this special Children in Need episode, Derek Brockway is in Ceredigion. As he walks from Lampeter to Longwood, we celebrate the amazing work done by projects and charities from around Wales, all supported by BBC Children in Need.\n\nDerek’s walk is just over six miles and starts in Lampeter, home of the first university institution in Wales and the birthplace of Welsh rugby.\n\nSetting off from the edge of Lampeter, Derek heads across the campus and visits the original college building, before heading off through the town. On the way, Derek stops by the historic Victoria Hall to visit Stage Goat Youth Theatre, a Children in Need-supported charity, and take part in a drama workshop. \n\nLeaving Victoria Hall, Derek heads out of Lampeter past the rugby club and heads up into the hills for lovely views of the Teifi valley.\n\nFollowing the ridgeline, he visits an ancient hill fort before heading into Longwood Community Woodland. Here, Derek stumbles across a saw mill, where he has a go at preparing a tree trunk for a round house. \n\nBack out in the woods, he finds out about the local wildlife and learns how to identify bird song with a bit of technological help. \n\nDerek continues his walk, wandering through magical glades, before finishing at the Longwood Community Centre with a very special picnic hosted by Pudsey.
