Willard White Remembers Porgy and Bess
The great opera singer Sir Willard White recalls his experiences on the first televised production of Porgy and Bess, based itself on Trevor Nunn’s acclaimed 1986 Glyndebourne staging of George Gershwin’s classic opera, and conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. \n\nWillard recalls the unusual challenges that arose during the project, including lip-syncing and performing in a TV studio instead of a stage, as well as what Porgy and Bess has meant to him throughout his esteemed career.
