Series 9: 19. Taunton

Becky and Paul and their two children live on the edge of the picturesque Quantocks, but there’s nothing dreamy about their new-build garden with its strange dog-legged shape.\n\nCharlie and Chris battle it out, and Chris’s design takes the win. Translating his design to the garden with its big perimeter walls stretches the £6,000 budget to the limit. The boys crack on with the landscaping, and Chris’s cracked paving patio goes down quick. A tougher proposition is the bespoke seating area at the back, with its dry stone wall façade.\n\nWhile Chris drives the main garden build, Charlie gets to tackle the dog leg, which Chris has designed to be a fun kids zone with a water play area and wooden musical instruments.\n\nWith metres of wildflower turf going down and native trees adding to the natural feel of the garden, it's not long before Chris’s design is ready for the big reveal.
