Series 12: Episode 11

The hunt for the UK’s finest cooking talent is underway. Celebrated MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace, renowned chef Monica Galetti and Michelin-starred Marcus Wareing are together once again in their search for a champion. \n\nIn the last heat of the competition, the final six chefs enter the MasterChef kitchen to face the skills test, the first vital step to becoming the MasterChef: The Professionals Champion 2019. Under the judges' steely gaze, the chefs have to show they have the true grit and pure talent to mark them out as a future star. \n\nThe contestants are hoping to wow the judges with their take on Monica’s dish of oeufs meurette. They have 15 minutes to show cooking mastery in making a rich and flavourful bourguignon sauce, topped off with the perfect poached egg, whilst under the scrutiny of Monica, Gregg and Marcus. \n\nWhen the last three chefs step into Marcus’s test, there is more egg-cracking and whisking when they are asked to create drop scones and a suzette sauce - a perfect batter mix and a sauce that goes up in flames.\n\nNext, all six chefs must complete the signature dish round. It is their chance to showcase their cooking style and creativity using their very own recipes. Everything is riding on how they perform under the intense pressure of this task. The strength of their dish either sees them through to the next round or leave the competition. The surviving three chefs move on to battle it out for another day in the last of the quarter-finals.
