Once upon a time, there was a woman with an impressive collection of iconic Ladybird children’s books. Helen Day has some of the very first Ladybird books, as well as those from the Key Words Reading Scheme featuring Peter and Jane, once used in almost every school in Britain. Natasha Raskin Sharp speaks to Helen about the legacy of these fascinating, little hardback books.\n\nWatch as the story unfolds for two teams of bargain hunters in Heanor, Derbyshire. Browsing the aisles of an antiques centre are grandmother and granddaughter Linda and Lauretta, whose motto is: 'Two generations, one goal, Bargain Hunt legends!' Their opponents are married couple Nicky and Harnek, and their tactic is simply to 'go low'.\n\nWith 60 minutes on the clock, Lauretta spots a cabinet of collectible coins, but expert Danny Sebastian feels they are too niche. Over on the blue team, expert Kate Bliss picks out an old garden tool for growing runner beans, but they are unsure if it will yield profits.\n\nIn nearby Staffordshire, auctioneer Richard Winterton gives Natasha his verdict on the teams’ lots, but as always, the bidders will have the final say!
