The Cornishwoman is now part of a strong-looking crew in the four, who will expect to ease into the next round.\n\nSwimming heats include British 200m freestyle champion Matt Richards and six-time Olympic medallist Duncan Scott, while the 400m individual medley features French star Leon Marchand, the reigning double world champion and face of the Paris Games.\n\nIt’s also the start of qualifying in women’s artistic gymnastics, and in equestrian, the eventing competition continues with the cross-country phase.
