British athletes seek to make waves in and on the water as the Olympic Games get underway with swimming and rowing heats and the first diving final.\n\nTwo-time defending 100m breaststroke champion Adam Peaty begins his campaign, while a stacked women’s 400m freestyle includes the world-class trio of American Katie Ledecky, Ariarne Titmus of Australia and Canadian teenager Summer McIntosh.\n\nIn diving, the women’s synchronised 3m springboard final features 2023 world silver medallists Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen, who could become the first British female diver to finish on an Olympic podium since 1960. \n\nBritain’s men’s hockey team are in action, and there’s also badminton and tennis.\n\nJeanette Kwakye and JJ Chalmers present.\n\nKey final\n10:00-10:50 Diving: women’s synchronised 3m springboard
