Camel Trail

Tucked away in north Cornwall, the Camel Trail is one of the most popular recreational routes in the country. Following an old railway, the trail covers 18 miles and connects the fishing town of Padstow with the wild moorland of Bodmin via the town of Wadebridge. Adam Henson and Charlotte Smith explore the trail's history, encounter the wildlife that calls this diverse habitat home and meet the people that live and work along its route.\n \nAdam travels halfway along the trail to see how a farm has rejuvenated a lost salt marsh habitat and is now welcoming wildlife back to the area. He then heads to the outskirts of Padstow to see one of the oldest deer herds in the country.\n\nCharlotte travels south along the trail towards Bodmin, where she finds out how this landscape inspired one family to pursue their dream of creating a vineyard.\n\nAt the end of the Camel Trail, Charlotte visits the National Lobster Hatchery, where they breed lobsters to help replenish the population in the waters off north Cornwall. And away from Cornwall, Charlotte investigates the latest plans to tackle TB in cattle in England and Wales.
