At last it is the final and with only two designers left, there is everything to play for as two contestants go head to head to battle it out to win the prize of their lives - for the winner, a life-changing contract to design the grand bar at one of London's top hotels.\n\nArriving at the design studio, the finalists discover that of course Michelle has left the biggest challenge until last. She tells them they must take everything they have learnt throughout the seven tough challenges so far and put it into practise in the final. The two finalists find out they are each being given an entire open-plan apartment to redesign, to try and turn into a home, and to help them, they can choose to bring back one of the designers to assist them.\n\nBefore the finalists start the design process, knowing they need to make it count, they head off to Manchester to see the apartments for the first time. Meeting the homeowners, they realise they must design for the client but also work hard to put their own design stamp on the properties. With so much at stake this week delivering a brilliant design will be more important than ever.\n\nWith three days to complete this ambitious challenge, the finalists know they have their work cut out if they are to prove to Michelle that they are a worthy winner. The designers take on two very different approaches, with one being super organised in the planning of every room, while the other designer piles the pressure on, leaving a lot of key design elements to the last minute.\n\nWith no love lost between them, it is a fascinating battle. With polar opposite design styles, both finalists are desperate to showcase their talents to the judges. Determined to show what they are made of, one designer chooses to go all out in the master bedroom with bold colours and brave textiles, but will this move risk alienating the owners and put the judges off? Meanwhile in the other apartment, with a love of loud print, it is the guest room that gets the full-on makeover treatment, with no holds barred! \n \nFor this final challenge, judging the apartments alongside Michelle, and making a welcome return from challenge one, is world famous fashion designer turned interiors expert Matthew Williamson, and new to the series is the highly regarded interior designer Naomi Cleaver.
