Jay Blades and the team bring four treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life.\n\nClock connoisseur, Steve Fletcher, comes face to face with a thrilling assignment when Andy Cronk brings in an 18th century time piece built by renowned French maker Julian Beliard. This rare and prized piece belonged to Andy’s grandfather, who obtained it by chance after the Blitz. Andy grew up with the clock as it was passed down the generations, but he’s never known it to work properly. Determined to get it ticking again, Steve overhauls every one of hundred or so parts.\n\nNext, electronics wizard Mark Stuckey takes receipt of a vintage radiogram from the 1960s. The broken music unit provided the soundtrack to owner Anne Marie’s childhood but has been silent for decades. Her parents recently passed away, and Anne Marie could not bear to see this lovely relic thrown out. Mark sets to work on the system to get the machine playing music once more.\n\nSisters Julie Welsh and Helen Brandford from Yorkshire are hoping Silversmith Brenton West’s can fix their 18th century botanist’s microscope. It belonged to their dear grandparents and holds wonderful memories of summers spent exploring their garden, studying all of its flora and fauna. This intricate, delicate piece is missing all of its original tiny tools, and the wooden case that holds the microscopic viewer is broken.\n\nFinally, Keith Kear from Epping Forest brings with him a junior drum kit for musical instrument expert Pete Woods. The 1920s drums have been played enthusiastically by three generations of Keith’s family and are now out of shape and out of tune, with the skins torn and the metal work rusty. Keith is hoping Pete can transform the drum kit ready for the next generation of young drummers in his family.
