Even so, the killers were so careful, they almost got away with it, but for an expert witness with an extraordinary knowledge of blowflies.\n\nWherever there’s a crime, there’s an expert witness with knowledge to help solve it. They may make a career from working with the police, or they may just be called in on rare cases where their expertise is essential. That’s what happened when an art expert found himself a key part of an investigation into a string of expensive forgeries of works by celebrated artist John Anster Fitzgerald.
