Series 16: Episode 2

The first set of heats continue with the four remaining celebrities facing three more culinary challenges as they compete for places in this week's quarter-final.\n\nThe first challenge is a Knowledge and Skills Test. The celebrities face judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace one by one, attempting to demonstrate their ability to identify four types of cheese. They must then make a classic pasta carbonara in just 20 minutes.\n\nAt this point in the competition, the celebrities would usually next be sent to work with and learn from a professional chef in their restaurant kitchen. But as this is not currently possible, John and Gregg bring the chef to the celebrities. Nisha Katona, the owner of the restaurant chain Mowgli, challenges each of the four celebrities to cook an Indian recipe from her menu. \n\nThen the celebrities must channel all they have learned from Nisha into one dish that highlights spice to stay in the competition. With just one hour to cook, the celebrities give it their all in a last attempt to prove themselves to the judges. At the end of this test, one of them will be sent home.
