Jay Blades and the team bring four treasured but faded objects back to life.\n\nJay and Will Kirk team up to help twin sisters Linda Atkinson and Pauline Murphy from Merseyside restore their mother Joan’s pride and joy – a chair built for the investiture ceremony of the Prince of Wales. It was one of 4,000 made for the ceremony that were later auctioned off to the general public. Linda and Pauline’s 93-year-old mum bought the chair and kept it pristine for years, but it has recently deteriorated badly after a spell in the garage. The sisters would dearly love the team to restore its stately appearance for their mum. Jay and Will spring into action, stripping and reupholstering, hoping for Joan’s royal approval.\n\nMechanical expert Steve Fletcher is in for a treat when he takes receipt of an air-powered toy car. Pam Carter from Cumbria has brought along this unusual and much-cherished vintage toy that has run out of puff. The little car belonged to her father, who recently passed away. Pam was entrusted by her dad to get his beloved toy repaired, but with wonky wheels and a broken engine, it’s in need of a full MOT. Steve needs all his mechanical know-how, and an inventive fix, to get it going again. \n\t\nMetal expert Dominic Chinea takes on an ageing charity donation box. Martin Brockman and Elaine Trethowan from Penlee in Cornwall are volunteers for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and would love to have their wreck salvaged, so it can once again collect donations to help save lives at sea. At over 150 years old, weighing over a tonne and riddled with rust, it’s a huge undertaking. But Dom’s first job on this rescue mission is to break into the box, which hasn’t been opened in decades, and find out what’s inside.\n\nFinally, bear repair pair Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell encounter a remarkable hand-tailored bear called Chiefy. A lucky mascot to owner Martin’s grandfather, a naval chief petty officer during the Second World War, poor Chiefy has lost his cheer, mislaid his boots and may even have an embarrassing case of moths. After Chiefy enjoys a short sojourn in the freezer, Amanda and Julie roll up their sleeves and get to work transforming him from shabby-looking to ship shape and a sailor once more fit for service.
