During the Korean War, battleworn Lieutenant Benson and his platoon find themselves isolated behind enemy lines. They are soon joined by Sergeant Montana, who is more concerned with his catatonic colonel. The two men cannot stand each other, but are forced to work together to get their soldiers to safety against all the dangers the enemy can throw at them.
