World War II thriller. Stephen Boyd and Tony Wright play two prisoner-of-war escapees who fall in love with a beautiful girl (Anna Gaylor) while they are hiding out in the old quarter of Marseille. James Robertson Justice plays an evil doctor who pretends to be organising their escape from France, but is actually planning to kill them. A sudden decision by the Nazis to demolish the old quarter brings matters to a head.
